This project is to help exemplify building your own hardware to interface into Kismet. This specific board is meant to plug into a radio’s audio output, decode APRS at 1200 baud, and then push the JSON to Kismet. This board is based on Micromodem, but is missing the transmit elements.
Let’s get started!
You can download the git repo from here: http://handorf.org/code/?p=shmoo-2020.git;a=summary. Within it, you’ll find the code for Arduino IDE, the Bill of Materials, and schematics. Additionally, you should install LibAPRS for the Arduino IDE available here: http://unsigned.io/projects/libaprs/.
